His name is William Warren. I would just like to know if anyone on your tree came to Milne Bay during the gold rush in the late 1800's. We have stories from the locals that there were two Warren's, a Robert and William and both were miners. I'd like to find out if there were really two or if he changed his name while here. There are children here that claim to be Robert's children and my Grand Father's Father's name is William. No one knows what happened to him but we can only guess that he returned to his family in Australia or wherever he came from. thanks, please contact me on 675 71776866 or skype name SHERRY and email ssariman@ymail.com thanks again Shiralee Warren Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: ShiraleeBernadetteWarren Surnames: Warren Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.warren/2988.4.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello Friend, I was refered to you by another person, researching Warren, I am very interested because my Great Grand Father's name was William Henry Warren. He came to Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea in the late 1880's 90's, could've been prior but am just guessing. He came here as a Miner during the Gold Rush with miners from Australia. We'd like to know very much if he returned to Australia and in what particular year and if he died and was buried there. We have many stories here of people saying he died here but there is no burial site. He had children here in Milne Bay with a local woman, the Eldest was my Grand Father who is named after him. My grandfather was born in 1912. We are very much interested in sharing our history with you and to know if this William Warren is our line too. He never told my grandfather much and I guess it's because he wasn't around for long and the kids grew up with the locals here. Please contact me on 675 71776866 or 675 6411302 or email ssariman@ymail.com thanks so much, Shiralee Warren. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
