My great grandmother was Virginia Thornton who may have been born in the late 1860's. She was the first of several wives of Jim Smith, and she gave birth to my grandmother, Ethel Lee Smith in Grenada, Mississippi on September 7, 1897 before Virginia died in 1898. Donna, My family is looking for the parents of a James R. Warren Born after April 30, 1822. The James R. that I refer to was born in North Carolina. He married Nancy Stowe . They were married in Surry County NC. He died February 21, 1901. At the time of his death he was living in Liberty Township, Yadkin county NC. I have told you about all that I know. If any of it sounds interesting let me know and I will put in touch with the lady who has done consicerable research on the Warren. We are probably extremely distantly related on the Warren side if we share Pelitiah as an ancestor . Since he was the head of Gail's list and she was not 100% sure of him I have only the name and date and county of birth on him. You seem to have much better info going back 90 years beyond Pelatiah on the Maine Warrens .Could you please share any of it with me?
