In Spring 2001 Gail Gordon Barone sent me group sheets by email on the Warren and Shipp families .These traced the Warrens of our common line from William P.(most likely Pelatiah) Warren in Maine Through George H.Warren in Tallmage Ohio in the 1860s and 70s to their emigration and descendants in Allegan Co. Michigan. If anyone wants them I can email these as rtf(Microsoft Word) attachments. Gail has not only not sent me anything since 2001 but hasn't made any Rootsweb.com posts since then nor is currently listed at her medical center employment and her sgks1@hotmail.com has hotmail email returned as with the message that this email box is full. She never told me her age but from information she mentioned I formed the impression that she was a widow and probably elderly. Does anyone have a current email address on this second cousin on the Warren side of mine? Has she passed away since last year? _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WZVBAIB/3246.1 Message Board Post: Hello, The following may be of interest. Your family does apear in the British 1881 census but there are certain differences to the information which you have given. Jabez Warren (age 43 and a general labourer was born in Tibenham), his wife Emma aged 40 was born in Forncett St. Mary. They had 7 children named Ellen, William, Ernest,Florence, Albert, Edith and Maria. The eldest though, was Ellen not your great grandfather, William. With the exception of Ellen, all the children were born in Forncett St. Peter Ellen is shown as having been born in Tacolstone, which I cannot find in my gazetteer but there is a town called Tacolneston and I put the former down as a spelling mistake. Historically, Warrens have lived in Norfolk for nearly 1000 years and the second castle of the early earls was and still is at Castle Acre. In the book, "A History and Genealogy of the Warren Family", there is a two page section on Tacolneston and a few names which you may at some time be able to connect to. I can scan any of this information to you if necessary. Jebez himself was born right at the start of our civil registration and it could be worth trying for his birth certificate or failing this, it is back to Parish Records. There is also a very good Family History shop in Norfolk which you might try. Again, I will give you a link if required. Alan John Warren
Would your Ina be from Buffalo N.Y. I know it sounds trivial. There are Native and Canadian Indians.from that area.
I say enjoy the time off.
Dear List Members, On Monday, December 23, I begin my Christmas Holiday week. I am spending it with my four children, their wives and husbands and my 9.5 grandchildren. It will be the first time in over 10 years I have had all my children with me for Christmas. I am thrilled to say the least. It is hard, as many of you know, when all of your children and grandchildren live thousands of miles from you. As you have already guessed, I will not be spending as much time as usual online watching over your list, but I will be back to full time on Tuesday, December 31st. I have also chosen not to have a list-sitter watch you while I am away. I really do not think you need one. I will be checking in each evening after the grandchildren and down for the day. If there is a problem which you think I need to address, send a personal message to me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net. I will check those first thing each night. If off topic messages are sent or if suddenly someone calls for a Roll Call, please just let it pass. Just smile and remember what I would say and hit that delete button. I will take care of the problems for you as soon as I check in. I have the best lists on Rootsweb and the greatest members so I know you will be just fine. I wish for each of you and yours a special Holiday Season filled with love, friendship, friends and family. I thank each of you for your friendship and for your support this past year. You fill my my world. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
