    3. My oldest known Warren is John born about 1792 in SC, according to census records. He is found in Heard Co GA by 1832 and may have stayed there until his death as he is found on the 1840, 1850 & 1860 censuses there. He was married to Martha. His known Son is John, Jr. b c1819 probably in GA, although one census indicates SC. He married Sarah. John Jr. may have brothers named Reuben, Thomas and perhaps, Sherrod, although these relationships are not proven. I *believe* that John b 1792 is the son of Thomas Hackley and Hannah Cawthon Warren of Spartanburg SC, but have no solid evidence. Janet Small

    3. My "only" know Warren is my husband's great grandmother Mary Delia Warren b.22 May 1882 according to family records in Stoddard Co. Missouri. (family record also says in Lutesville, but Lutesville is in the county north of Stoddard) She married Charles Crawford. They had three children of which only Raymond Earl Crawford lived to be an adult. Mary Delia later married J. T. Wilkins. Mary Delia Warren Crawford Wilkins died in Clay Co. AR in Piggott on 23 April 1952 and is buried at the Nimmons Cemetery. According to her obit, she was survived by one brother, William Warren of Walnut Ridge AR, a half sister Mrs Ludie Chappell of Wardell, MO, and one half brother, John Cook of Pinckney, Michigan as well as her son Raymond Earl Crawford and his family. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? 3. Greetings from the Sunflower State, I am a descendant of James and Margaret Warren who settled in Berwick, Maine in the mid-1650s. Most of what I know of this ancestral line comes from the work of Vanetta Hosford Warren. My line is as follows: 1 James Warren* (c 1620-1702) m Margaret (d 1713) 2 James Warren (1658-1725) m Mary Frost/Foss? (b 1667) 3 Gilbert Warren (1703-1755) m Abigail (1705-1740) 4 Gideon Warren (1726-1804) m Hannah Morrell (b 1731) 5 Adriel Warren, our Revolutionary War hero (b 1751/2) m Lefe/Lese (?) 6 Henry B. Warren (1803-1890) m Rebecca Moore (1820-1882) 7 Storm Warren (1850-1932) m Phoebe Jane Squire Ward (1847-1939) 8 Clarence Henry Earl (CE) Warren, Sr. (1889-1973) m Rube Ellen Johnston (1891-1983) 9 Bethel Warren (1924-2001) m Rev. Walter E. Racker (b 1920) 10 Walter E. Racker IV (b 1946) m Kay Adele Snedeker (b 1947) *In case not all the new members realize it, "Canadian Geographic" magazine featured a wonderful article on Grisel Warren (eldest daughter of our first James Warren). Her story is told with intriguing detail in "Virtual Vieux Montreal," an article by Douglas Hunter, in the July/August 2002, edition (Volume 122, #4). Most large city and college libraries should carry it or be able to get it via interlibrary loan. If you have no luck, send me a large post-paid envelope and I'll share what I have. It's a fascinating look even for those of us who are only marginally related. You should also know about a wonderful book called "Dunnybrook" (with a U), by Gladys Hasty Carroll, published at the turn of the century. This is filled with wonderful stories of many of our kin. Finally, "The Tory Lover," by Sarah Orney Jewett, provides a fictionalized account of the naval career of Gideon Warren, who is reputed to have served with John Paul Jones. Both of these books are available from the normal web-based old book search sites. Best of luck, and let me know if I can share any info. 1. [WARREN] From List Mom - A few items to help you.
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller’s Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will received an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. Please send this request to KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net not to the entire list. If you would like to visit the archived messages of this list or any other Rootsweb mailing list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search and from there you can search by dates. There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. When sending a posting to the list it would help if you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line. Doing this also might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. Many members are on many many lists and when they see a subject line that reads "My Ancestors" they just delete it. 2. When posting a query regarding a surname it would help all of us if you would put your surname in CAPS. This way the members can easily pick out the surnames you are looking for. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. 6. Now, the hardest thing is, when one of our own, a fellow member becomes upset about a posting from one of us. It is so hard not to jump in and add our two cents when they send their unhappiness to the entire list. I want you to know how much I appreciate it when you just let these posting go by and delete them. Know that I am behind the scenes taking care of the problem. If you ever have a concern that I might have missed a message that needs addressed you are welcome to contact me during the day at Kathleen.burnett@era.com or in the evenings at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. It is your list and is here for your benefit. If you have suggestions or comments you would like in future reports, you only need to send them to me. 1. [WARREN] Clean-up Day for Clapp Factory Cemetery
    2. Kemis Massey
    3. Hi all, As I have bugged all of you with my emails [for those of you who may not have read them, each family name that I have sent this message to has a person with that name buried at the cemetery] about research on the Clapp Factory, Cemetery and Village, I thought I'd bug you again about the clean up and other wonderful progress we have made. On Saturday, March 29th from 8 - 6 the Clapp Factory Cemetery Preservation League (we are working on our incorporation papers and non-profit status) is having a clean the cemetery day. Any and all that are able to help us are welcome to help us. Just because we said 8 - 6 doesn't mean you have to be there all day. We'll take anytime that you can spare. For purposes of March 29th, I would like to define "clean-up". cutting and removing vines picking up rubbish raking and removing leaves We do not plan to try to clean the entire cemetery that day as the task would be impossible. We need anyone who is coming to bring any of the following items: rakes clippers or snips ax shovel small saw - for some of the larger vines removing any fallen dead logs Please mark your name on the items so that we can identify who they belong to in case you get separated. If you have gloves, would be a good idea to bring them. If you need directions, please let me know and I will send them out on an individual bases. For further information on the Clapp: http://login.yahoo.com/config/login?.src=ygrp&.intl=us&.partner=&.done=http%3a//groups.yahoo.com/mygroups You can log on to it using the ID of cemetery_clapp with a password of "visitor". Please log off so others may view the info we have gathered. Since the newspaper article on the "Urban Cemeteries" was written, we've had several new family contacts and GA Power is willing to work with us to get the cemetery straighten out. We're just going to keep on working towards getting it preserved. Happy family hunting, kemis Researching: DUKE, EVANS, HICKEY, MAYS, ROSAMOND, SONGER, and CAMP for me Researching: BROOKS, CHAMBERS, MASSEY, FOUNTAIN, and SMITH for my hubbie and CLAPP Factory Cemetery in Columbus, GA for preservation purposes
