My oldest Warren has to be Nicholas, born around 1795-97, somewhere in Cornwall, UK. On the 1851 census for Perranarworthal, Cornwall he is aged 53, married with 6 children and also in the house on census night was a nephew, Hannibal Warren, aged 13 from the Channel island of Jersey. Hannibal seems to be a family name over the last 6 generations, I still have an uncle of that name living in Cornwall, but I don't know how or why it originated. Anyone know of this family? John Warren.
My earliest Warren ancestor was James Warren, who was born Cir 1799 in New Jersey. In the 1880 Census some children listed his place of birth as Pennsylvania, which leads me to suspect he may have been raised there. I find him first in Muskingum County, Ohio, where he purchased a property on 30 July 1822 in Putnam, which is now part of Zanesville. He was married to Mary Ann Deaver in Muskingum County 11 March 1824. They resided on farms in Muskingum and Morgan Counties, Ohio the rest of their lives. James died in Morgan County 15 July 1876 and was buried in Deavertown, Morgan County, Ohio. Their children were Sophia Ann, Harriet Matilda, Isaac James, George Washington and Mary E. I would like to correspond with other researchers of this family. Larry E. Warren
I've been on this list for quite some time but haven't posted for a while so here I go again. I'm seeking Warrens from the Southwest Indiana area. This is the info on the earliest Warren that I'm completely sure about, who was my second great grandfather: Ralph D. Warren, born 17 November 1839 in Indiana; died 05 March 1912 in Warrick Co., IN. He married Sina Seavers 04 March 1861 in Warrick Co., IN. Sina Seavers, born 14 April 1848 in Indiana; died 28 October 1894. Children of Ralph Warren and Sina Seavers are: i. Rufus D. Warren, born 17 April 1862 in Indiana; died 24 November 1931 in Boonville, Warrick Co., IN; married (1) Lydia D. Vaught 30 September 1899 in Warrick Co., IN; married (2) Laura Christina Love Unknown in Unknown. ii. Grant Warren, born 22 December 1868 in Indiana; died 16 February 1943; married Myrtle Bullock 29 March 1914 in Warrick Co., IN; born 22 June 1897 in Indiana; died 1979. iii. Eugene Warren, born Unknown; died Unknown. iv. Howard Warren, born Unknown. v. John Warren, born Unknown; died Unknown. The parents of Ralph D. Warren are thought to be Ralph Warren, born Abt. 1810 in New York; died Unknown. He married Mahala Jane Wilcher 31 December 1837. Mahala Jane Wilcher, born Abt. 1817 in Kentucky; died Unknown. I've never been able to prove anything about the 1810 Ralph and his wife Mahala for sure, and I've never found any other descendants who have any other information, so I thought I would throw it out to the new people on the list to see what I could find.
