I have never heard him called anything except "Jim", but a distant cousin said his name was really George James Warren. I can not find them in the census or anywhere. 1. [WARREN] Rev John A. Logan Warren 1927-1929 Durand and Rockford, IL
    2. Redbird
    3. Does anyone know if this person was married or what happened to him? >From the Rockford Republic (Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois) Nov. 23, 1929: "Rev. Warren Slander Suit Opens" John A. Logan Warren, laborer at a Rockford industrial plant, next week will ask a circuit court jury to award him $50,000 damages from seven Durand residents whom he charges with responsibility for unfrocking hiim as a Methodist minister and forcing him out of the church. The slander trial, which opens Monday morning, is expected to pack the court room at each session, as attorneys for both sides haved hinted that surprising revelations will be made. The plaintiff, claiming to have been driven to poverty by his disgrace, is seeking to recover his good name and financial restitution from his accusers in a legal way. It was a church court that found him guilty of misconduct with a maid in his Durand home. In 1927 he was leading citizen in Durand, and an unsuccessful candidate for congress. Shortly after the congressional race the tongue of scandal began to link his name with that of Hazel Lamb, 17 year old maid the Durand parsonage. A church hearing was held and Warren was asked to resign his pastorate. Today he occupies a small room in an unpretentious house on N. Third Street and works as a laborer.

    3. Norma. Gundrada was the Fifth Daughter of William the Conqueror and yes she married William De Warrenne the 1st. their remains are burried together, in Southover Priory, adjacent to Lewis, Sussex, UK. (I have an interesting historic record, with photos, (( hard copy )) . Together, they built this Priory and Lewis Castle, being within the Earldom of Surrey and Sussex and just a few miles from the site of the Battle of Hastings. The true male 'Warren' line died with the fifth Earl DeWarrenne, his Wife, Eleanor of Aquataine, married the Earl of Leister who assumed the title of Earl De Warrenne of Surrey and the name soon changed to 'Warren'. It is fair to assume that many 'Warren' lines devolved from others who came from Normandy and specificaly the district of Warrenne or Varrenne, along with William DeWarrenne. The originators having been Norsmen, who having no surname, when they arrived in Normany, around 935 AD. took the name Warrenne, or Varrenne from the District, it having been named for the main River, passing through it. I too am a Warren, born 10 miles from the site of the Battle of Hastings and would love to find a true connection with Sir William. Good luck and keep up the good work.
