Norma Kirchhofer - Thank you very much for the information on John Warren's parents. My grandmother, Evelyn Holland Floyd, daughter of William Floyd + Emily J. Warren, always told us that her grandmother was the daughter of an Indian Chief. I have been unable to verify this and we never thought to ask which grandmother? (Grandparents: Mary Elizabeth Copes + Thomas E. Warren and Lydia F. Griffith + John W. Floyd.) Do you know if there were any Warren's, from the Northampton, VA area, who were Indians? Some info I have; William was my G.Grandfather Joseph's, Brother. Joseph was Married first to Phoebe Oakley. Then , after she deserted him he left to Toronto with Mary Jane Nicholson and had a second family with Her. My grandfather, William Warren, was born in 1900. After Joseph died my family had no futher contact with the Warrens in Udney or Udora. I was told that my mothers grandfather was an Indian, and he was on the indian list in Toronto. I do have a newspaper article descriping how "Old Joe" wanted to trade his daughter, Martha at 17 Yrs old, for a friends wife but the wife refused and was left near dead beside the railroad tracks in Udora. Shortly after this article Martha was married to John Nicholson and they had their first child six months after the incident. It was at Martha and Johns wedding that Joe met Johns sister Mary Jane and left to Toronto. If your interested I can E-Mail you a copy. The family, Father, John and Grandfather, William are from St. Austell, Cornwall England The rest of the info I have other than some pic's and some data I've yet to update are on the following links. I do have what I believe to be pics of John Warren & Jane Martyn also I will be getting some of his brother.
