About 4 weeks ago you posted a message from James R.Warren requesting that I send him my DNA profile. Unfortunately all attempts at passing the message to [email protected] bounce. I would be glad to pass the data to him (or anyone else) if they request directly through [email protected] (at least the incoming request will contain an unambiguous address ! ) Many thanks. A.Roger Warren (b.Bristol,UK, 13th June 1932)
I am new to this list. I am researching Thomas and his son Zachariah. I have the will of Thomas, but can find little else on this family. I am trying to prove Zachariah's age and where he was born. I have Zachariah in a land record selling land to Abednego Hogdes about 1805 in Franklin Co., VA. I also have Zachariah in the Henry Co., tax records from 1780-83. I haven't been able to find anything before this time period. Can someone please help me? Kathy ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

I lived near Buckfastleigh & Headborough for some years, before developing an interest in Family History. Subsequently (and having moved to the other side of the UK ! ) I have discovered that there is a memorial to a Warren parson in the nearby village of Ermington, Warrens also served as parsons in the villages nearer Plymouth, Plympton and Plymstock. Perhaps of greater geogrphic interest, the boundary between Devon and Cornwall has been changed over the years and while the River Tamar is effectively the legal boundary today, a swathe of land (now S.E. Cornwall) to the West of Plymouth Sound used to be Devon. Of interest, the graveyard of Rame Church (up on the headland forming the Western edge of Plymouth Sound) has multiple Warren graves. The name Warren is not common in the area today. I am NOT related to the Warrens of Headborough (so far as I can trace) but the Warrens of old were certainly more mobile than might have been expected. While the Warrens of Headborough are asserted to have descended from the Poynton Warrens, other French nobles adopted the name Warren later than the death of the last "Antient Earl" - for example, Sir Richard Fitzroy Warren of Fifehide, son of a "natural" daughter of William 6th Earl, and sired by King John ! I suspect that the liberal adoption of the Warren surname may account for the variation in Male DNA results (of which mine are freely available). A. Anthony Roger Warren could you contact James R. Warren at [email protected]? Could not find your address on the qc-gateway or rootsweb. Looking to get help finding a proven descendant of the Poynton Warrens in the UK to help us prove genetically what we have not been able to prove by documentation. And that would be Humphrey Warren SR. born in Poynton, England, July 7, 1632 (we believe) of Maryland is indeed the son of Edward "Stag" Warren of Poynton England. He was born May 10, 1605 and baptized May 19 that year according to the register of Wood Plumpton. He married Margaret, daughter of Henry Arderne of Harden near Stockport. A DNA match would do this. We have four matches here (US) that have varying lineages to what should be Humphrey's American brothers. To put this question to rest a DNA match with a Warren line documented to the Poynton Warrens from the UK in my opinion would prove this relation. He had three children with her Shirley Warren, James Robert Warren, and Virginia Warren. I have been unable to locate his birth or death dates. I can't find him in any census records. There are so many James M Warren's. I found his name in a book and his son James Robert Warren's obituary. I believe he died somewhere around 1920-1930 due to when his children were born and the fact that Rosie was married to Kelsey Henson in 1930. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Second comment, if Christoper WARREN died in 1587, he could not have sailed on the Mayflower as this took place in 1620, some 35 years later. Third point is that it is unlikely that Christoper WARREN died in Massachusetts in 1587 prior to the Mayflower. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
