I googled this and then selected The History of Moultrie Co and Sullivan Ill, keyed in a search for John Warren had 3 hits that were suppose to mention him - LOTS OF DATA ON THE AREA - found only one mention of John Warren - probably overlooked other data since there is so much there. Under the paragraph for ARTHUR ILL there is menion of a John Warren who in the year of 1873 erected a small building and established a grain business. Also just noticed that the village was laid out in september 1872 by M.H. Warren and William Kanitz. Norma - you said that a John Warren was the Father of Asa and Stanford - do you have a name for a daughter and perhaps a 3rd son since that is what showed up in the Marion County census of 1825. Author: bjjulie1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.warren/4461.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I googled Marion County this afternoon and it was formed from Jefferson and Fayette in 1823 - however Fayette was organized from parts of Bond, Clark and Crawford in 1821 - my thoughts at this time is that this John Warren must have lived somewhere in the Patoka area. Several people had info that we were seeking, Seems that Zachriah had a son named Henry Valentine, making him a brother to Mary Polly - Henry has been determined to be the Father of Micajah - thus when Micajah married Jane Hodges, daughter of John and Mary Polly "Warren" Hodges - he married his first cousin. Norma Kirchoffer has that in her files also, and hers is normally very accurate. I have asked her for a source but as of yet have not received that info. Go to a thread on the Warren Board titled Henry Valentine, there are probably at least 8 posts. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. For many years now I have tried to tie him into being perhaps the father of Micajah, Asa, and Stanford (these 3 show up in the 1830 census in the same area) However now that the Micajah mystery has been solved - I am back to who is this guy. I am looking at a page I just copied from a book in the Geneology section in Mt Vernon and it states this is the first census of Marion county and in it is listed John b. 1780-1790, undisclosed wife b. 1790-1800; 2 sons b. 1810-1815; a daughter b. 1815-1820; and another son b. 1825-1830. Looking at the 1820 census in Illinois I find a John living in East Bond County who has the same amount of family members. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS. I seem to recall that Marion County was formed from part of Bond - will need to research that Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
