David Barsh married Elizabeth J. Heath, eldest daughter of Frederick Heath of Charleston, in Orangeburg District on December 8, 1807. In the marriage announcement he was referred to as Major David Barsh. Elizabeth remarried a few years later to William G. Huntt. In Huntt's obituary, Elizabeth was referred to as the "widow of David Barsh, a Colonel in the War of 1812..." I have been unable to locate any military records related to the War of 1812 on David Barsh. Any information or suggestions on where to look will be greatly appreciated.
