I am trying to find out information about two very distant relatives that were in the war of 1812. My information is vauge though, and I was hoping for some clarification. The first name I'm looking for is John Baird. My information says he served as 2nd lieut. in Capt. Isaac Williams 1st regiment of Vol. Mounted Gunmen and also served in the same capacity in Capt. Williams 2nd regiment commanded by Coln. Newton ?? I don't know the last name. The second relative is his brother Robert, who also served in at least the 2nd regiment with John. I think this was in Kentucky, but could have been Alabama too. I was not given that info, or what company they were in. If you could provide me with any information regarding this part of the war, I would very greatly appreciate it!!
