    1. NARA says can't find
    2. I sent a request for the pension records of James Moores. He supposedly fought in the War of 1812. They sent me a notice saying they can't find him. So, now I have these questions. 1. Were there pensions given for veterans of the War of 1812? 2. Moores is a name that gets spelled several ways. Would they have looked for variations? 3. In the place where they asked for state, I didn't think he fought for Ohio as I haven't been able to find him, so I put in his home state and Ohio. Would they have looked for both? 4. Its possible he served for the U.S. Army and not a particular state. I wrote that in the same box as #3. Would they have also looked for him in those records? Can anyone help me? Brian L.
