    1. Col. James Moores
    2. According to his grandson, Mr. James Moores became a colonel in the War of 1812. I know this because his grandson reported it to the fellow who wrote the history of Jefferson County, Ohio. So, it has to be true, right? <g> Well, you guessed my problem. The fellow isn't in any roster of Ohio soldiers. There are James Moores but they are only privates. James' dad was a judge so he comes from a respectable family. It just might be true. What sources would you recommend I go to next to prove or disprove before I contact NARA? Brian L.
