    3. What is the PA Militia? Where they different than other troops? Where can I find listings of PA Militia groups? Any help is greatly appreciated...looking for a Jacob Guth or Good serving with a Montgomery's Regiment or a Hallock/Halleck Company. Thanks in Advance. Sharon (Good) Jones

    3. The Militia is a group of men "mustered" or called together to support the regular army if needed. They would try to get together and drill to be prepared. My ancestor was in the militia as a rifleman and was mustered in at York PA. There are some muster rolls listed in the published PA Archives, that is where I found my information. Then I went to the State Archives and found the hand written rolls on microfilm and found my ancestors signature there.
