There is a John Tolar who served in Truehart's Regiment (1st Virginia Regiment) who died at Camp Bottoms, Virginia (along the James River). The only record of this death is in Mary Cameron's pension application in 1855. John was married to Mary Parsons, daughter of Woodson Parsons. She later married a William Cameron. She is buried in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia. My ancestor. Craig Craig R. I suspect he fought in the War of 1812 but have no proof of this. He would have either been in North Carolina or Tennessee when the war started. He or his widow Mary L. Toler filed for a pension in Kansas in the late 1800's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. > > Christine. >
