    3. The following site does mention a gathering of troops at "Pass Christiana, Louisiana" http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/R&H/R&H-1IN.htm in 1815. But the Pass Christian, MS, historical community includes a record of a gathering of troops (during that same decade) as a part of their early history: http://www.frogbellies.com/passchristianhistory/historyof/antebell.htm. The solution? Some of the maps of the Louisiana Purchase indicate that the part of the Gulf coast where Pass Christian. MS is now located was at that time (1803-1819) a part of "Louisiana": http://www.jmu.edu/madison/louispurchase.htm http://www.washington.edu/uwired/outreach/cspn/hstaa432/lesson_4/louisiana.html Elaine Pronounced "Pass Christi-ann"
