Hi, The following was allegedly printed in a St. Louis newspaper sometime following the death of my ancestor John DeRoques (1783 - 1857). I have been unable to verify the article's existance, no idea the name of the newspaper, or the date, and have been unable to find any info. on the author. The majority of the article, is to have been taken from my ancestor's journal, and contains info. on different battles, locations, and mentions several different officers. I do not know if the journal still exists, or who might have it, if it does. So make your own judgement on the validity of any of this, just thought I would share it, as it makes interesting reading, if nothing else! I would welcome any comments or any info. that might verify or disprove any of the facts in the story.
