Hi, My ancestor Abraham Hesser is listed as participating in the War of 1812 under a Shappell's unit. He was from Pennsylvania. Any ideas how I would go about finding information on this unit & where they were, what they did, etc. I've tried to search this Shappell name in relation to the war, but nothing comes up.
