I am new to the list and know almost nothing about searching for War of 1812 info. My GGGG grandfather, William Wall (born about 1770), of Shelby Co., KY fought in the War of 1812 He was in the Kentucky Mounted Volunteer Militia under the command of Maj. P. Dudley and Capt. There is some information about the Kentucky Mounted Volunteer Militia and some sources to read.
