Don't know if it is 'on-line', but the published rosters for Kentucky were printed by Adjutant General in 1891: "Kentucky Soldiers of the War of 1812" re-print Clearfield Company, 1995. There are eight men with the name John Foster and one with Jonathan Foster in the index - none were officers. There is a web site for Tennessee Units for the War of 1812: http://www.state.tn.us/sos/statelib/pubsvs/1812reg.htm Do not see an index, the regiments are in order by commanding officer.
