hi, my name is Kim, I'm trying to find some info on a person that was in the war 1812 in va. I don't have much info to go on. I've wrote to the n.a.t.f but no luck there. if someone was a volunteer soldier would they be listed with the n.a.t.f? and I'm not sure if the name I have is the first or middle name. if there's anyone who can help me please e-mail me thanks alot Kim

I have found my ancestor, Presley Merryman, as a private in Captain Thomas Royston's Company of Infantry, 30th (Tankersley's) Regiment Virginia Militia. Does anyone know a good source that I can use to find more information on the regiment and/or company? Thanks. Stephen Fox
