    1. Beamer / Force in 1812
    2. My 4th gr grandfather, Noah Force and 5th gr grandfather, Hendrick (Henry) Beamer(Beemer) were from New Jersey. They fought in the War of 1812 but fled to Canada.....I understand that Noah could have been tried for treason. They settled in the Woodstock area of Ontario..... Any idea's as to where I may find info on these two..... Thanks for your time....

    3. Henry Beamer - Beemer Private in Lieut. Colonel Joseph Willcocks Detachment Canadians U. S. Volunteers Roll 13 - record 1923, also listed under Henry Beemer in the same unit roll 14 - 2188. also in these units was a John Force, but not a Noah Force. I would not pass up the Henry Beamer Beemer listed in the 51st Regiment (Amey's) Maryland Militia; Henry Beamer, roll 13 - 1923; Henry Beemer, roll 14 - 2189. There were several Beamer's listed in New Jersey Regiments and a few in New York Regiments, one being in a Regiment near the Canadian Border I believe. Lt. Colonel Joseph Willcocks later commanded a Calvary unit in New York. The Force name was listed in New Jersey but there were no Noahs listed in the CMSR indexes for the 1812 war. I'd keep your mind open while searching for these two, as I in tracking a number of my surname, found they went back and forth across the border like it didn't exist. Some went up at the rumor of war in 1808 and went back to the US when war broke out, some servered in the US, then returned to Canada, some didn't return to Canada, others that did return to Canada in 1816, had been collecting US Pensions for Rev. War service, and others stayed at the outbreak and served in the Canadian Militia. No Rhyme, reason or consistency to it.
