When writing on this list, I suggest putting the phrase "War of 1812" in the subject box. I get so much spam, that I must just delete it. I am sure that I have deleted some War of 1812 emails. On the History Channel's special on the War of 1812 last Sunday, Sept. 12, I think they made one mistake. The British did not revoke the policy of impressing American sailors prior to the declaration of war by Congress. Rather, the British Government just revoked some of the Orders in Council.
