I am a concert singer. Whenever possible, I work an honoring of veterans present into my concert. Once I was in the audience when the singer did the same, asking all veterans to stand; after I had sat down, the lady next to me touched me on the arm and said, "thank you for what you did to help protect our wonderful country." It was the first time anyone had ever done that, and it brought tears to my eyes. We should never pass up the opportunity to say "thanks" to _*any*_ veteran.
