    1. Regiment Help Needed
    2. When trying to get a possible ancestor's War of 1812 record from NARA, I received a response which gave me two choices. His name was Thomas Adams, born about 1771 in DE, but served in OH. One possible record said: 1st Reg. Andrew's Ohio Mil. The other: 2nd Reg. Willetts Ohio Mil. He was living in Highland Co., OH when he served. Any suggestions? Shari in Ohio

    3. The book "Roster of Ohio Soldiers in War of 1812" , Adjutant General of Ohio, 1916, has three men with the name Thomas Adams: Thomas Adams - Private, Captain Thomas Latta's Company, (Note says probably from Jefferson County), September 15, 1812 - March 21, 1813. 1st Regiment Ohio Militia. Thomas Adams - Private, Captain George Gibson's Company, (Note says county unknown), July 28, 1813 - September 6, 1813 and August 23, 1814 - January 11, 1815. 1st Regiment Ohio Militia. Thomas Adams - Private, Lieutenant Robert Harvey's Company, (Note says probably from Ross County), July 13, 1813 - August 17, 1813. 2nd Regiment Ohio Militia. According to my map, Ross County borders Highland County on the east. Jefferson County is on the Ohio River north of Steubenville. The one from Lt. Harvey's Company of the 2nd Regiment may be him, of course he may not be. The first two could be the same man, several were in more than one regiment and the dates do not overlap. Good luck Scott Baker -----Original Message----- From: Caddygrl92@aol.com [mailto:Caddygrl92@aol.com] Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2005 4:31 PM To: WARof1812-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WARof1812] Regiment Help Needed When trying to get a possible ancestor's War of 1812 record from NARA, I received a response which gave me two choices.
