Where he lived when he enlisted?.. where his company was stationed in KY?... the march to New Orleans?.. and where the Company returned to? Any clues appreciated. Angie --------------------- James KIDWELL (b VA) lived in Giles Co., TN... early 1800s... (m Elizabeth ANGUS 1809 in Giles Co TN) We cannot find him from 1810 - 1830... Three of his children are listed in the census as b. KY He is back in Giles Co by 1840 Military Service Enlisted Nov 20, 1814 in Russellville, KY (Logan?) Capt Thomas Sterrett's Company, Kentucky Detached Militia Commanded by Lt Col William Mitchusson On Oct 20th, 1814, Govenor Shelby issued a call for men for the New Orleans Campaign... The only regiment of the Kentucky militia to have participated as a whole in the great victory in the battle for New Orleans was Maj Harrison's battalion of Mitchusson's regiment and Carroll's Tennesseeans, occupying the center and left of center of the American line. Mitchusson's Regiment, organized Nov 10, 1814, commanded by Lt Col William Mitchusson of Caldwell (?) County, who resigned and was succeeded by Lt Col Samuel Parker. The regiment had ten companies, with a total strength of 746 officers and enlisted men. Discharged: May 20, 1815
