I want to thank everyone who answered my email about my ancestor, Capt. Robert Alexander, and the Battle of the River Raisin. I have been looking up all your suggestions and learning a great deal of history. Bob Walker's web site was very helpful. In chapter XVll, footnote 36 of the book he posted - a Major Alexander was mentioned. He was commander of a PA rifle company of volunteers in Campbell's expedition Dec 1812. I am now looking for his first name. He was not found in the British dead or on the Kentucky Militia list of the dead. Thank you all for your help. Joan
