Many thanks to all who helped out with my original request regarding Joel Farnham, who fought in the War of 1812. Although a record is shown for him on Ancestry.com and there is mention of his service in the book called The History of Coos County, Town of Lancaster, today I received a letter from the National Archives in Washington saying that they were unable to locate a file on him. Can anyone help explain the discrepancy - where do I go from here? Also where does Ancestry.com get their information from?? Thanks for any help you can give me.
