    3. Try www.regiments.org. I am researching the West-Riding Rebellion of 1820. The 4th Dragoon Guards participated in that. I believe, but am not certain that the 4th Dragoon Guards and the 4th Irish Dragoons are the same. I only have a couple of references to them: you will note that their title changes from report to report - Times, 05 April: detachments at Huddersfield on 31 March - ... 4th Dragoons under Capt SIBTHORPE Leeds Mercury, 08 April 1820: one troop of the 4th Dragoon Guards, under Capt. Sibthorp LM, 15 April: detachments at Grange Moor - a small number of the 4th Irish Dragoon Guards, under . Lt SHAW & [& other units] ... the whole commanded by Major De BATHE [not sure if the Major was part of the 4th or some other unit] Times, 18 April: three troops of 4th Dragoon Guards under Colonel SHERLOCK . Hope this helps.
