Marilyn, Gilbert Drown does not show up in the records of the Swift's & Dobbin's unit but does show up in Dobbin's 2nd Regiment of New York Militia, and then in Swift's 2nd Regiment of New York Militia. Only a time frame, and their Captain compared with each units service history could detirmine if it was Swift's & Dobbin's Regiment at the time. There isn't a record of a William Drown or variant in all three units. There is a William G. Downs serving in Dobbin's 18th NY Regiment, and you can put a William Brown in all four.
