Could somebody please identify, for me, these three groups from the War of 1812: I would like to know where they were located, and if it is possible to get info on the members of each group. Each of the below listed groups had a man named William Johnson. I am seeking a William Johnson, but have no clue if any of these men would be the one I seek. Any ideas? 1. William Johnson, Private, Essex, Killed 3/28/1814 2. William Johnson, Private, 25th Infantry, Died 5-31-1813 3. William Johnson, Private, 7th US Infantry Died 3-30-1814 Source: Known Military Dead During War of 1812, pg. 36 Regards, Judy in TX
Ann, Here is the copy of your e-mail. Thank you a bunch! Judy in TX

Dear Researchers: If I order my ancestor's official War of 1812 papers from NARA, what kind of information can I expect? Will these papers have the name of his parents and his birth place? (His name was David LUTES & he enlisted in VA (now WV). Best Wishes, Donna Mollaun
Researchers, If you would like to see what an application for War of 1812 pension looks like you can look at the one I have online at the following url: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~thetiethatbindsour/pics/pic_beeler.htm it is near the bottom of the album page, just place your cursor over the pages and they will say what they are. This man was 88 when he finally received his pension. It is worth sending to the NARA for these files. This application states his service, his month and year of marriage to his first wife [my ancestor]. Good luck with your research, Virginia
