    1. Re: Wehr Family
    2. Hi Jerry Wear, I don't know much about this family before 1850 but here goes. Jacob and Catherine Wehr were born in PA. They married around 1809 in Pa. According to the 1810 Census, they had one son, Eli and two daughters at that time. They had another son, Enos in 1812 sometime after that they moved to Butler Co., Ohio where their third son, Gabriel was born in 1817. In 1818 they donated two acres of land to the Hickory Flats Cemetery near Overpeck, Ohio. On November 26, 1824, their son Jacob was born in Overpeck, Butler Co., Ohio, followed by Franklin in 1827 and Lorenzo in 1829. Jacob owned a farm in Butler Co. and owned and managed the first distillery in the state. I found a book census for Ohio in 1840 for Butler Co., Ohio listed are Jacob Wehr, Nathan Wehr and Jonas Wehr, all of St., Clair Twp. I also found a book, Wills and Estates to 1850, lists Wehr, Jacob E-1848 BU a-t8 p541. I know that Jacob born in 1824 died on June 15, 1913, in Butler Co. and was buried in Hickory Flats Cemetery it may be that Jacob and Catherine are too. Nellie Barnes
