Kellie, A bunch of messages from you have crossed my screen in the passed few days without meaning much to me until I noticed Vanlandingham as your family name. It is a name closely associated with the Weirs of Muhlenberg, Co, KY which I have investigated at length because of my own roots including (Beasley, Shelton, Shutt and Weir). My Weir ancestors of Muhlenberg were Minerva Weir and per parents John Weir and Mary Burns who date from a little earlier than the Weirs you are inquiring about. There were several Weir families in the West-central part of Kentucky in the late 18th and early 19th century. Of course, they might be related and so I've spent alot of time trying to figure out the Weirs that intermarried with the Vanlandinghams, as well as mine. Please let me know what place you are investigating, more about the Weirs you are seeking and who where and when were the Weir-Vanlandingham intermarriages? Where do you live and what is your descendancy? Palmer Beasley Houston, Texas PS - Write me back either of the following e-mail addresses rather than through Ware-L; it'll just be confusing to everyone else. His mother signed Marriage bond as Lydia Ware. So do you have any Harvey's or any Wares that married a woman named Lydia? Thanks Kellie Vanlandingham
I am researching the Macmurphy line of my family, Daniel Macmurphy and Susannah Crossley Macmurphy. Their daughter, Anne, married a Nicholas Ware. Anne was probably born around 1794 in Augusta GA or South Carolina. Any information would be appreciated. Anne Johnston
Could you please contact me back? I am not sure if I have your correct email address as what I send you keeps coming back Sorry everybody! Kellie Vanlandingham

He moved there about 1785 from PA and stayed until 1816 when he moved on with his family of six children to Ross Co., OH. His children were: Mary, John, George, Matthias, William and Elizabeth. There were records of him also in Amherst and Albemarle Counties. Carolyn

Rick: I dont know if this is the same Emma M. Weir that you seek, but the book, Weir/Wear: From Here to There and to the White House lists some info about one. Page 189: The children of John B. and Margaretta were Ellen Jane, born about 1833 Rockbridge Co. , Susan Rebecca born about 1838, Clara E, Mary Amelia, born about 1837, Emma M., and Alexander H. born 29 Jan. 1844. Notice that birthdates are missing for some including Emma. There is more info about some of the siblings - names of spouses, etc. and about the will of John B. If you think this might be the person you seek, please let me know and I will send more info. Larry W in Texas
My Weir enlisted in the Civil War in Missouri. Russell Alex married a Nancy Ridder and they had a child. The child died I assume at birth and then his wife Nancy died within the same year the child did. Could have been an epicdemic. I am in the process of moving and I have put the family book away in a box I will email you later and let you know. Where he enlisted in Missouri He had a brother living in Rushville Missouri when he got out of the service. By the name of Sameul.
Rick, It's quite possible that your Emma M. Weir is related to the Waer's that I'm trying to hunt down. There appears to be quite a few Waer's (Weir, Ware, etc.) in this general area. There is a group of us, each with our own Waer, trying to track down and possible connect them together. I did check through my files and wasn't able to find anything on Emma M. Weir. I will add your information to my file, just in case anything turns up. They lived in the German Valley area of Morris County as well as adjacent parts of Hunterdon Co. Unfortunately, I don't know anything else about her or her ancestry. Do you know anything about her? It may be possible that she could be a niece to your Timothy. Do you know anything about his siblings? Anyway, good luck with your search. Best wishes, Rick Novak/[email protected]
