Darryl: Have you seen a copy of FROM HERE & THERE TO THE WHITE HOUSE by Olga Jones Edwards and JoAnn Wear Spore? There are several men named Hugh Weir listed in it. I believe I am descended from Hugh Weir, Jr. of Rockbridge Co. VA. I do not have an exact year of birth, but believed to be about 1765-70. This might make Hugh Sr. the one you are seeking. larry in texas
Betty, I have a FGS (which I can't put my finger on just now) with Jesse Tubbs/ ? Swearingin of TN Pulaski. They are both buried in the Ware Cemetery. I believe they were from VA originally and Jesse's grandmother may have been a Ware. As I recall, one of their children m a Ware. My Ware line,James Ware, Sr. went from VA to Franklin (Woodford) If you'd like more details, I'll try to find the FGS, or at least, its source. Nancy
I'm looking for information on my gggrandfather, Joe WARE. He was born in 1869 in Georgia or Tennessee. He died September, 1940 in Brideport Alabama. Joe had at least three brothers, Jesse, John and Alf WARE.I'm trying to find who his parents were. I don't know his mothers name but my great aunt remembers her and says that she was full blooded Indian. She told me that the kids in the neighborhood always thought that her grandmother was funny looking because she was dark skinned, had dark black hair that she always wore in two long braids that hung nearly to her waist and she had a big nose (funny what you remember as a kid :) but my great-aunt does'nt remember her name (she is in her 90's and only met her a few times when she was very young). Can anyone help me with this WARE line? Mike Troxell
Thanks, but this is NOT the right Dudley WARE. Many people have been looking for my Dudley with no success, unfortunately.
Looking for any information on ancestry of Hugh WEIR (b. 1720, probably in Pennsylvania) m. Margaret SMITH; settled in Rockbridge County, Virginia. Darryl Brown [email protected]
Betty, this if from the "Wilder and Ware..." book. Is this your Dudley Ware? ------<snip>-------------------------------------- This Nicholas was known as the "EDGEFIELD NICHOLAS" because he settled in the Edgefield County of the South Carolina Colony and was one of the six cousins or brothers who brought this line to South Carolina and Georgia Colonies before and immediately after the Revolutionary War, about whom this book was first intended to gather and preserve in print their scattered traditions and genealogy. F-1. Nicholas Ware (IV) (Son of No E-1 Nicholas (III) & wife Mary Thompson) lived in Caroline Co., Va., but full details of his birthplace and date of marriage Page 0851 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- are not known. The Rev War service of this "Edgefield" Nicholas (IV) Ware has been accepted by the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution for membership of his descendent Eva Ware (Mrs. Wm. My sister and I have recently started searching our family tree. We had very little information about our father's side of the family and have gone back two generations, but are now stumped. Does anyone have a Milton Ware married to an Adeline T. Young? with eight children: Thomas, Frances A., Harvey G., Richard M., Milton E., Lydia A., James M., and Rachael Peslina. Thanks for your help. Traci Westlund
