    3. Hello In noticing your note below, I also rec'd a note from Russ Woodward. He and I are in this line together it seems. His adress is below. "[email protected] Call him up and ask him, if you haven't yet. Just maybe there is a chance, since some of these folks went back to El Dorado area near 1900/1910. They could have spread out easily enough. I mean, what's 15 or 20 miles to the co. line?? Eureka is 30 miles east, I believe. I believe you'd better ask him, as he's been on this line about 3 years, and I've just started. They are my ggg-grandparents, but they are burried in my hometown area near Whitewater, northwestern Butler Co. What part of Greenwood County did he live in? Near Eureka, or down south toward Severy?, or further west toward El Dorado/Butler Co. Line? I do believe that even tho' I know the area, he knows the line. If we're on the same family, yell back to me and I'll fill in what you two don't. They had 8 children that I know of, one died at one month short of 16, and seven lived to adulthood. I have only two downlines. If I could go home (500 miles away, from East Texas back to So Cent Kansas), I would begin looking up the 1910, and then 1900, etc soundexes, and figure out spouses and children for the other four lines. Just haven't started that yet. Have been working on other lines. I'm sorry I say so little. Give Russ a holler, and let me know if he helped you in any way. He may just have the right idea for you, even though he may not have your line. Take care, and happy hunting! Genealogically yours, Rex W. 3. Dear Ware List Members, In response to a query I made through this list I was referred to a resource entitled "Weir/Wear From Here & There to the White House" by Olga Jones Edwards and JoAnn Wear Spore. While many of you are probably quite familiar with this work, I thought I'd go ahead and give it plug for newcomers like myself. So often our reference materials are out- of-print and the authors no longer within reach. I'm happy to say that just received a copy from JoAnn, herself, and am delighted to find a great deal of information about my late husband's Weir/Wears. The book is a spiral bound compilation consisting of 244 + pages of information and updates on the descendants of Hugh Weir, Sr. b.?- d 1779 in Rockbridge Co. VA. His descendents are shown settling in TN, MO, AL, and MS among other places. It includes will text for some folks, specific references to historical documents and census data, and a great deal of information passed on by family members. If you are interested in obtaining a copy, JoAnn can be reached at [email protected] I will be happy to check my copy to see if your family members might be included. If you are related to this line of Weirs/Wears, I would say it is a must for your library. Thanks again to L. Wilson who first made me aware of this book and JoAnn. 3. Hello Seems we may have a wee bit of a chance! Was your Weir a Jos. B, who married a Delilah? Did the children match any at all? Delilah is supposed to be burried in El Dorado, Ks., the county seat for Augusta, KS, but have not found it yet. She had several children who was supposed to have gone to El Dorado area, Augusta is only 17 miles away. Let me know what you have. All I know, just about, has been posted, and you should have. Will be able to contribute brain power and My grandmother's ideas, once I know what to ask her. She is 88, and this is one of her lines she is interested in. I do her leg-work, but I'm 500 miles away. Oh well, thats this crazy world nowadays. My brother lives on the home place Jos.B.'s daughter helped to build. He is the sixth generation to live on the place. 3. Hello Ware Genealogy List I am searching for the ancestors and siblings of Joseph B. Waer, born about 1835 in PA, and came to Edgar Co. Illinois. He was mustered into Company "E", 66th Reg., of the Illinois Vol. Infantry in 1865 and served about 3 months or so. I have seen the name spelled "Weir", and "Ware". He married Delilah Edwards 12th September, 1861by Rev. Wm. Shields in Paris, Illinois. I have some of his decendants. He came to the Butler, Harvey, and Marion County area in central Kansas about 1880 or 81. One of his sons, Andrew J. Waer b. about Mar.15,1865 died in Kansas about Mar.4,1881, and is burried in the Elbing, Cemetery. Their other children are: Eliza Jane b. about 1866 or 67, married John Calvin Foster in Whitewater, Kansas. I have some of her downline. Mollie Elizabeth b. Mar 21, 1868, married Christopher Lintner White in Whitewater, Kansas. This is my line. I have most of the downline. Charles W. b. about 1871 Hattie b. about 1874 Frank M. b. about 1880 "Kidd" O. M. b. about 1883 KS (the above family group according to 1885 Kansas state census, bible, and cemetery records.) Am willing to share info. that I have with you all.
