Hi Everyone, Hi Everyone, A kind gentleman named Charles Barnes, Coordinator for Fairfax Co. VA., performed a lookup over and beyond the normal for me and I thought you might want to take a look at parts of what he sent. I hope that there is an early clue for you here. Bockstruck's Va Colonial Soldiers has a few tidbits of interest: Jacob Wire is listed on the pay roll of Capt. George Rogers Clarke's company at Pittsburgh in Dunmore's War (1774). Timothy Wire is listed on the pay roll of Capt James Wood's company at Romney and Winchester in Dunmore's War. These units were from the militia in the surrounding area of Pittsburgh, Romney and Winchester, so the one at Pittsburgh is close to Monongalia. There is also the size roll of 7th Co, Va Regt, commanded by Capt Joshua Lewis that lists William Wire, enlisted by Capt Lewis 24 Jun 1757, age 24, 5' 1", planter, born England, enlisted Frederick County, fair complexion, light hair. Wills and inventories of Va to 1800 include: WEIR Robert, Amherst Co, will, 1772 George, Halifax County, will, 1775 James, Northampton Co, will, 1775 Hugh, Rockbridge Co, will, 1779 George, Rockbridge Co, will, 1781 WEIRE Jno., Rappahannock Co, account, 1684 WIER Robert, Amherst Co, will, 1794 Thos, Pittsylvania Co, will, 1775 WIERE Walter, Rappahannock Co, will, 1680 WIRE Francis, Augusta Co, will, 1779 WARE Edwd., Amherst Co, will, 1779 Caleb, Chesterfield Co, will, 1740 Peter, Goochland Co, will, 1741 Jacob, Henrico Co, inventory, 1709 Susanna, Henrico Co, will, 1735 Thomas, Isle of Wight Co, will, 1676 Henry, King George Co, inventory, 1751 Edwd, Middlesex Co, will, 1774 James, Middlesex Co, inventory, 1778 Jane, Middlesex Co, will, 1787 Wm., Northampton Co, inventory, 1725 Jno., Westmoreland Co, will, 1704 _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Lydia could have possibly been the wife of Daniel Winter, and the daughter of James Ware and Hannah Pierce. I have been researching these Wares for some time, and Lydia and a large group of extended family migrated from Vermont, to Bolton, New York, to Ohio between 1798 and 1815. My Lydia was born abt 1800 in Bolton, New York. I still have a great deal of work to do in piecing together her family, but it is entirely possible that she and Daniel moved on to KY. After settling in northeastern Ohio, many of the children moved on to pioneer other places. I live quite near the Family History Library in SLC and will check census and other records when I go this week, and let you know what I find. It would be fun to have another "cousin" out there - there don't seem to be too many of us working on the more northern Wares, mostly working on the Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas Wares. Connie
You do have a problem. I have documented the Wm Ware of Texas. He is the son of Joseph & Eliz Dawson Ware. He was b 1/15/1800 in Ky and d 3/9/1853 Uvalde Cty,Tx He married Ann McMurphy 1827-1828. She died in Montgomery Cty,Tx bef 1844 Their first child Richard was born 1828 in Arkansas as were the 2 girls. He remarried 1844 in Texas. I have documentation from his descendants who still live in Uvalde Cty,Tx. The Wm C Ware you are looking for, I have no in formation on, sorry. I have several Wm Ware's but none that fit the time frame. Hopefully someone else will be able to help
Who was the husband of Lydia_____WARE? She was probably born abt 1790-1800. We know she had one son named Harvey WARE that married Elizabeth Crutchfield in 1839 in Clark Co KY. I am guessing that her husband was dead by 1839 as she signed for her son to marry. This family lived in Clark, Powell, Estill Co Area of Ky. Please contact me if you have any information. Thanks
Our Wares MIGHT be related to the Wm Ware you discuss. We are looking for a Hardy Ware (b 1779; m 1822-1846; d 1850 in Houston County) who married a Sara (Maiden name unknown - b 1794 in GA; d 1829-1889). They had a daughter, Katherine "Kate" Ware (b 1826 in TX - then Mexico; d 1865 in TX). Kate married William Walter Richardson in 1849 and they lived in Limestone County, TX. I could use some help finding the ancestors of WILLIAM CHANDLER WARE. b. 1824 in Augusta, Richmond County, GA, married Rebecca Calhoun Harris of Abbeville District SC November 11, 1850(Record of marriage in Richmond County, marriage bond filed in Edgefield, SC) He moved to Lee County, GA about 1850 and was killed near Sharpsburg, MD August 22, 1862. I suspect his father and mother are WILLIAM C. WARE & ANN MCMURPHY of Augusta. William C. was born in 1793, married July 10, 1817 in Augusta and d. January 4, 1826 in Augusta, GA I am aware that there are reported lines including at least one in WFT #17 which have WILLIAM C. WARE AND ANN moving to TX. I doubt that because I found the obit for William C. in the Augusta newspaper saying he died in Augusta. Also, a relative reports a letter from ANN in MS after she is reported to have moved to TX. The William that moved to TX may have been the son of Joseph Ware of Augusta. Joseph was Sheriff of Richmond County and a witness to Wade Hampton's signature on some of the Yazoo Land Documents. Owen Forrester
I would like to contact any descendants of Ezekiel Parks Ware b. abt 1811. He was the son of Thomas Ware from Wilkes County Ga., and was in Floyd County Ga in 1850 and in Gordon County in 1860. He was married first to Margaret( ? Medlock) and second to Mary Elizabeth Williamson Appleby.Children were as follows; Children born to Margaret Elmina Susan Sarah Thomas Tisy Ezekiel Children born to Mary Elizabeth Henry L Andrew Jemison ( my husband's Great Grandfather) Micajab Charles Winney S Columbus Appleby( child of first marriage) Ann Wain

Hi Michele, Sorry, my Wares from Alabama don't seem to connect with the Woods or Clarks of Northern Alabama, that I am aware of. Good luck in your search. Georgia
Are you sure it was Monongalia Co for your William Ware? Wives sound more like Harrison and there were sons of Francis Ware (weir) living in area at that time. Could you give more infro on William, like where and when married, etc. May be able to help. Jean
