My 'brick wall' is Sarah WARD, who married Thomas MAUPIN in 1833 [his 2nd wife]. Sarah was born 06-Nov-1805 in Buncombe Co., NC [other sources say SC] and died 16-Apr-1892 in Denver, Worth Co., MO, bur. Kent Cemetery, Denver, MO. In her death notice, the following appears about her: "She was the mother of Perry MAUPIN, of Denver, MO. She leaves 4 children. She had lived in the Grand River country for 50 years. She was born Sarah WARD in Buncombe Co., NC, 6 Nov 1805. When she was 2 years old her parents moved to Estil Co., KY. There she married Thomas MAUPIN in 1833*.
