Mary, Can you give me more info on your John Ward. I have a John A. Ward (1 month old) in the 1850 Wayne County, MO. census with Andrew and Nancy (White) Ward. In the 1860 census, the parents have died and the children are living with relatives, but I do not find a John A. Ward, who would have been 9 or 10 at that time. This John A. Ward would be a brother to my Great-Grandfather William Raney Ward. If John A. Ward lived to adulthood, he would have been 58 in 1908 and could have been working in the mines at Bonne Terre.
