    1. JULIA ELIZABETH WARD
    2. Britany
    3. I am new to the list and also just beginning to try to trace my great grandmother, Julia Elizabeth Ward. All I know about Julia is that she married Frederick Smith, a pork butcher, in Nottingham in 1872. Her marriage certificate shows her age as 22 years and her father's name William, occupation 'gentleman'. Fred and Julia had at least three children whilst living in Newark, Notts (Laura, Frederick and Daisy) the latest one being born in 1877. From here I have lost her. I believe the family moved to the London area and there is a Julia and Frederick Smith in the 1881 Census living in Hackney, but the children don't appear on the 1881 Census CD's anywhere in the British Isles although I know at least two of them survived to adulthood. I also do not know where Julia was born. The Hackney one says 'London', but I cannot find a record of her birth. I would dearly like to hear from anyone who may have some knowledge of this family.
