Hi Judy, Now, if your John WARD was born in Nova Scotia and had a daughter named Lydia, there's a good possibility he is of the same ancestry as my WARDs. The WARD family of Newport, Hants County, Nova Scotia married into the MOSHER family where the name Lydia is prolific! My ggg grandfather, Simon WARD married Rhoda MOSHER (daughter of James and Lydia MOSHER). One of there sons, Increase WARD had a son Thomas, but he was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia abt 1820. I would check out this line though, it looks like a possibility anyway.
