Once years ago I ran across a little book on the Seth Ward family of VA in the Library at William and Mary Univ in Williamsburg. As I recall this said that the Seth Ward first in VA was one of several orphaned children who were reared by their uncle , the Bishop of Salisbury. I think this was the same Bishop who is discussed in the historical novel, Salem. Hope this helps.
