Hi, just to clarify things, there is NO KNOWN RELATIONSHIP between Andrew WARDE and Joyce (Trafford) WARD. Joyce's family, including the FLETCHER line, moved to Newark NJ. Joyce Ward of Wethersfield CT was definitely married to Richard Ward of Stretton, Rutlandshire. He died in 1635, and his will is reproduced in the "New York Gen. and Bio. Record", vol. 49 (I think that was around 1918). There isn't any question; his will names his sons the same way as Joyce's will does, and he mentions his daughter in law Mary Fletcher. The "Stephen" thing came I think from Stiles "History of Ancient Wethersfield" and even he had a ? by the name. I think there has been some recent work on Andrew WARDE, but I don't have notes on it. As far as I know he has never been traced. But Joyce's origin in England is well documented.
