Hi Janet, In your info on the WARD living in MD do you have a James L. WARD that is b. 1 March 1821? I hope so. I have been researching my Great Grandfather James L. WARD b. 1 March 1821 in MD, d. 25 March 1873 in Jasper County, TX. for a long time and have hit the "brick wall". The first documentation I have of him is his marriage in TX. Two census records 1860 and 1870 said he was b. in Maryland. So you see I am hoping he might tie into the James WARD you referred to.
