Hi Stacy - So glad I have information for you. A wonderful distant cousin, Richard G. Ward of Tipton Iowa, helped us a few months ago, or I wouldn't know any of this. He sent us 65 pages of family history, and when we get home, we will copy the same info and mail to you. It is wonderful. In the meantime I can tell you that Leavan (Levin) Ward came to this country from England in the mid 1700's with his young son William (maybe 4yrs old or so). Do not know who his first wife was. He met a young lady, Priscilla Price on the ship, and after arriving in America, they were married in 1775 in Maryland. They settled in NC and raised a family of 14 children, including Levin's William. Your ancestor, Noah, was one of their own 13. My husband descends from William, and he migrated to southern Indiana - Daviess CO (about 1818-1819, and the family remained there for many years. My father-in-law and mother-in-law both were raised in Daviess CO IN. They were married there in 1922 and shortly after moved north to central Indiana, where we now live. I promise to mail you what we have as soon as I can after getting home. It will be about the 18th of Feb. when I can get them mailed. OK? Lots of luck - know how much fun you are having with this! Love to you and yours - Cousin Bob and Barbara!
Hi! How was your trip? I recieved the packet today! THANK YOU! This is so exciting! Did Richard happen to say where he got some of his information? The reason I ask, is because my great aunt Judy had looked high and low for the parents of Eleven Ward (1816-1892). If he happened to say where he found the information on Eleven's parents, I would love to show it to Judy's sister-my grandma. From census information found, it said that Eleven's mother was born in NC, but his father was born in TN.....from Richard's information, Eleven's father would have been born in NC, and died in TN....but since NC and TN share borders, it wouldn't surprise me if they were fighting over borders (like I have found with the Iowa/Missouri border) and maybe Eleven thought it was TN instead of NC. If Richard happens to have a copy of a census or birthcertificate, I would love to get a copy. Does Richard have an e-mail address? If so, would you ask him to e-mail me (or see if I can get his e-mail address?) I told my grandma that you were sending some things about Eleven and his parents/sibblings and she was excited too. She said she wished Aunt Judy could have been here to see it too. I thank you again for the wonderful information. Have a great weekend!
