Hill County and Ellis County are south of Dallas. Ellis County connects to Dallas County on the south of Dallas. Fort Worth and/or Tarrent County are due west and connect to Dallas, Dallas County. ~*~*Denise*~*~ wrote: > > Hill County is near Waco, Texas. My grandfather had two cousins named Thomas and William (tom and Bill) who came back to Madison Co (West TN) to visit during WW II when I was a Teenager. As I recall they were sons of David Eli Ward who moved from Madison Co to area around Millington, TN in early 1900s. David Eli had three brothers in Madison Co named Thomas Day, Jesse Bradford, and John Jenkins. After WW II A son of John Jenkins Ward, Aaron Ward (wife Ethel Short) moved to Texas and lived as I recall near Fort Worth with two sons. The sons probably have children in the area still, but I have lost track of them. One of Aaron;s sons was called Junior and I cannot recall the name of the otherone. Aaron also had two daughters. Jane married and I think lived in Dallas. Do not recall who she married out there. The other daughter married Harold Allen and remained in Madison Co , Tn. I think all of Aaron's children probably are dead. I do not know where old Tom and Bill lived in Texas, but suspect it was also in Fort Worth Area. I do not know if they had children, but they probably did.. Eli, Day, Jesse and John were sons of Thomas Ward (wife Emily McDaniel). That Thomas was son of Thomas Ward (wife Elizabeth Pugh) who came from Randolph Co NC in 1820s to Henderson Co TN. His father in NC was also Thomas Ward (wife Jennie (Jane) Patterson, some times called Jean). After that Thomas died Jean married 2nd James Pugh and had two children by him. Jean/s sister Margaret married James Ward and had one son (John Orr Ward). James died and Margaret Married a Swift and had more children. Thomas and James had a brother William. They were sons of William Ward who appeared in Orange Co ca 1750. He died in Randolph Co in 1802 (outlived all his children). His second wife was Elizabeth Barnett, a widow by whom no issue. Do not know who his first wife was. We think William came from MD to NC but no proof yet.. I do not know if this helps your research. If so let me know and perhaps I can get afew more details. There were other Ward families in West TN not related to us as far as we know and all seem to have come here from NC DEW brothers--; --- Original Message ----- From: "Sid \"Buddy\" Moore" <smoore@ojai.net> To: <WARD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 29, 2001 5:20 PM Subject: Re: Ward family from West Tennessee > Hill County and Ellis County are south of Dallas.
