    3. Thank You Rachel The Ward list was one of my first efforts three years ago when I got into genealogy and I wish I had taken the time to check the dates before posting here. Yes some of the more alert and intellegent people did hurt my feelings but thats ok I guess at least I learn from my mistakes. 3. We all make mistakes. Some BIG ones and some little "boo boo's", especially when we first start out. Don't let this deter you on your research. Gen is suppose to be fun, not life and death. It would have been a nice gesture to help you, rather then chastise you. 3. Hi Linda .. I don't know which genealogy software you use but I presume they are all the same with some features. I use TMG and there is an "audit" feature that checks for mistakes. http://www.whollygenes.com/ e.g. Children born before the mother was 14 or after the mother was 50. same as above for the father children born after mother or father's death death after burial etc. etc. You can see more features here: http://www.whollygenes.com/tmg.htm#features I'm not connected with the company .. just a happy user. We all make mistakes .. I have been known to marry a grand-child to Grand-ma :-)) and my biggest mistake, when I started off 3 1/2 years ago, was not recording the source ! LOL Jane PS My particular "hate" is entering the unknown wife as "Mrs John WARD" .. I prefer to write "unknown". ----- Original Message ----- From: "Spiritssong" <lwhit@alltel.net> To: <WARD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 1:59 PM Subject: Re: my Wards > Thank You Rachel > The Ward list was one of my first efforts three years ago when I got into > genealogy and I wish I had taken the time to check the dates before posting > here. 3. G'day Linda, I am in South Australia and none of the information you posted is of any direct connection to my Ward ancestors BUT I would like to offer a big AUSSIE THANKYOU for posting this information. Many people on the list asked for it and I am sure many others were interested and if it gives some people a clue to pursue their brick walls, it is well worthwhile. If more people supplied information we would all do better am sure. Good onya mate!!
