I am looking on information on Wards in Texas. My great grandfather was Ira Ward. He married Willie May. He had a sister, Adelia. She married a Clark and lived in Ft. Worth. Ira and Adelia Ward's father was John Ward. Ira Ward is buried in Waco, Texas. John Ward is buried in Hill Co., Texas at an unmarked grave. He is buried near a Poteet and Butcher. Thanks, Denise
Hello Denise, Do you have any WARD's in the Ellis County area? My grandmother, Mary WARD was born 4/4/1866 in Italy, Texas. She died 1/31/1900 in Italy, Texas. She was one of eight children. Her parents came from North Carolina. I have some more information but not a great deal. If this firs with your family please contact me direct. Hello Sid, Thank you for getting back to me. I have very little information on the Ward's in my family. I have no dates for my gg grandfather. All I have on him is that his name is John Ward. He married Virginia "Jenny" Butcher. I have her birthdate as 1865 so I'm guessing his is somewhere around that date. I don't know where he was born. I know he is buried at Smith Bend, Texas in Coon Creek Cemetery. I looked for the graves but they are unmarked. I did find Virginia Butcher's brother, sister and brother in laws graves so I am assuming they are near there. I also know they had two children. Ira Ward and Adelia Ward. Ira Ward is buried in Waco, Texas. My grandmother, Jesse Ward Vigus, said all she knows about Adelia Ward is that she married a Bob Clark. This was her first marriage. She married a second time and had several children and lived in the Ft. Worth, Texas area. My John Ward could be a brother to your Mary Ward. I do not know. I would love to find a link somewhere. ----- Original Message ----- From: ""Sid \"Buddy\" Moore"" <smoore@ojai.net> To: <WARD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 14, 2001 7:36 PM Subject: Re: Wards in Texas > Hello Denise, > > Do you have any WARD's in the Ellis County area? > > My grandmother, Mary WARD was born 4/4/1866 in Italy, Texas. Denise, None of my WARD family remotely fit your description. All my WARD tree is based in NYC. Jim WARD MS USA ~*~*Denise*~*~ wrote: > I am looking on information on Wards in Texas.
