Hi Diane, Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I am in Montgomery Co. So far all of my Ward's have been from Montgomery Co. too, all the way back to Edward Ward dieing in Clarksburg in 1820. The man in the Willow Bend Bookstore must have had 10 books on the counter trying to show me how to trace my line back further. He was going so fast that I couldn't keep up. I only know that when he looked in a green hardback book for the track of land "Ward's Inheritance" he said it was originally in Anne Arundel Co. I am going back up to the book store this coming Friday to pick up some other supplies and I will try to find that book again. He also said that he thought Anne Arundel split and Frederick Co. came from it. Then in 1776 Montgomery Co was formed from Frederick. But everything I have read says Frederick was formed from Prince George. I have no idea if Prince George Co. was formed from A.A. My thinking tells me to try to find an abstract will book for A.A. Co. and look for any Ward leaving "Ward's Inheritance" to another Ward. Thank you for trying to help. Did your Ward's come thru Md. to Pa.?
