Hi Cindy, Thanks for the response. I have a William WARD, b. abt 1775 married to a Mary Elizabeth MILLER, b. 1776. William worked for Norman Bruce, as the foreman on his plantation located near Graceham, Maryland (near Thurmont, Maryland) in Frederick County. Williams daughter's, Sally, b. 1799 and Mary, b. 1801 are listed as being christened at the Moravian Church, Graceham, Maryland in 1802. In 1806, William and his family migrated to Frostburg, Maryland. I have suspected that the William is not the first Ward to settle in America and that he was from eastern Maryland originally. I find your account of migration from Somerset to Frederick interesting. This is the first account that I have heard of that describes such a move. It is possible that William would have been descended from families that made such a movement. I would be interested to know if any of your family members had a child named William in Frederick about 1775.
