Pat, I have John Ward b. 1704 in Ireland coming to Philadelphia, Pa in 1730 who married Mary McCormick or Campbell or Holmes. Various researchers have given her a different last name. Their daughter was Elizabeth Ward b. abt. 1743 who married George DeLong. It is possible that your later Wards who lived in Pa. were descendants of these same Wards. What do you think? Considering the "renaming" issue, I found it interesting that my father's siblings share many of the names you've listed. His siblings were: John, Catherine, Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Francis, Charles, George, and William, born between 1890 and 1908, all in Philadelphia, PA. I'll be interested in your reply. Thanks, Pat
